Anxiety disorders are some of the most common mental illness affecting millions of people yet many people don’t realise they have it. People also tend to think that if they ignore it long enough, it will go away.
Anxiety is not a benign condition. It can trigger a number of broad symptoms:
- chronic illness
- undetermined physical pain
- chronic pain
- panic attacks
- obsessive thoughts and behaviours
If you are suffering from any one of the five major anxiety disorders, it could very well negatively affected your prospects, and can make every day life a difficult task to deal with.
For example, if you are suffering from social anxiety disorder, you could be overwhelmed by anxiety and excessive self-consciousness in front of other people. This can cause a barrier to being able to bond and connect with other people. As much of success is about relationship building and expanding your social networks, this can be absolutely detrimental to your success.
You may not even need to have any disorder for anxiety to negatively affect your success and happiness. Worry and concern causes stress to your mental and physical health over time and can end up making you push people and opportunities away.
So much of our success and happiness lies in our ability to build deep, lasting relationships. Figuring out how to overcome anxiety can well make the difference between success and happiness or failure and misery.
Join us at College of Allied Educators to learn more about how you can overcome these difficult personal challenges, and how you can help yourself overcome doubts, fears, and disagreements in order to build a happier, more meaningful life.
