With zero knowledge & background in special education, a CAE staff (shout-out to Melissa) invited me for a preview talk... and she gave a very clear introduction of the Diploma modules and explained well the career path and her teaching experience as well, which gave me a better understanding and confidence in pursuing a career in this new field. I took a 6-month Diploma in Education (Special Needs) in Oct last year and it has been an eye-opening and knowledge-enriching experience given the 2 lecturers who were practicing in the field, hence every lecture was never boring as the lecturers referenced heavily on the real-life situations and their teaching experiences and encounters have added extra value to the whole program. Overall, I would recommend the Diploma program to those who are considering entering into the Sped field or who want to just know more about it. Special thanks to Melissa who has ensured that I had a smooth and pleasant experience during my studying period in CAE, very helpful! Cheers!read more

I would like to give a big shout out to CAE for helping me to carve a career path for me. I got enrolled in Diploma in... Special Education & then Diploma in Counselling psychology and it has aided me greatly in my new job. I’ve learnt and gained valuable skill sets from these 2 programmes. If anyone is looking @ Private schools, I would highly recommend CAE. The staff and lecturers are warm & welcoming yet professional in delivering their work.read more

It has been a pleasure to study in this school. I really admire how the school make an effort to listen to the... students’ feedback and improve accordingly. I’ve gained invaluable insights shared by the lecturers and my classmates. They are engaging, fun and interactive. The practicum centre that I was attached to, was an eye-opener for me as I get to experience working in a special needs school as a shadow teacher. It has given me great opportunity to continue working after graduating and expand my connections in the special education industryread more

I went for preview in Jan 2020, Mr Peh spent more than an hour going through the course outline and detailing explained course structure if anyone will to pursue farther to Master. It’s a new industry to me. The preview was informative and fun as we had some role play. A pleasant presentation. Thank you Mr Peh. So overall, I as a candidate the chances of registering into this course is high, probably I will register for April 2020 intake (see below). Of course there are other factors I’m looked into as my own research so here’s my sharing. Point 1) According to SSG’s record, this private school seems fine. They are approaching 10 years. Have Edutrust protecting students. 👍🏻 https://www.ssg.gov.sg/cpe/peis/college-of-allied-educators-286.html Point 2) Singapore Association of Counselling. This school name is listed first, could have be the name starts with “C” therefore it’s at the top. https://sacsingapore.org/career-course-recognition/recognised-programme/ Point 3) No google paid search engine to sell this school yet the name of this school appeared at top search. That means this search is quality and genuine. Some schools paid google to range top in search engine may have other reasons, perhaps to expand or to promote their new course. Point 4) No bad reviews about its certificates are useless which means this school certificates are recognized. Other than staff’s unacceptable attitude towards service... well we’re human, perhaps the staff is having a rough day or even it is the case that the staff react badly then it should be brought up to management to seek for service behavior issue. This school can surely handle this service manner well as it is a school for people to understand and improving people’s life better. I kind of appreciate having human serving me instead of robots and unreachable human response. Like some new telcos, that piss me off when I can’t speak to a human customer service. I won’t spend a cent to such service products. •Course Fee• To me this is a good course not job for job seekers but also for personal development. I urged government to subsidize more for its citizens especially for older working adults. I do find the course fee expensive, about $5000 for 5 months course for a Diploma in Counseling Psychology. I’m not against this school price tag, they have the confidence and quality to provide, it’s their call. I will feedback to @skillsfuturesg as well. Last but not least, I hope more senior students or people who graduated from this school can give true reviews of how has it gone so far after obtaining this cert. Their words are much more valuable and appreciated than my view. I will update once I started my course - Diploma in Counseling Psychology. For now I’m looking forward to start my course especially the part where I can get a feel of real live assignments. I hope I have time to update learning experience in my YouTube channel. ~End & thanks for reading~read more
