WARNING SIGNS FOR SPEECH & LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT

The development of a child's speech and language development tend to follow a known pattern. It's not always a cause for concern if a child's development is a little slower than typical as children do develop at different paces. There are things to watch out for.

You should consider seeking a professional evaluation for the child if by the 24th month the child is displaying these symptoms:

  • the child is primarily using gestures rather than vocalising to communicate
  • the child still has problems understanding simple verbal requests and instructions
  • the child is repeating words without constructing words or phrases spontenously

Do you have the adaptability, flexibility and creativity?
