CAE Phonics and Phonetics

Can you accelerate a child's early speech & literacy by 2 years?

Phonics is a method for teaching children to read by sounding out letters and combining the sounds rather than by memorising words; and studies have shown this method to be very effective. It is an open secret that introducing children to phonics and phonetics at an early age can increase their speech and reading ability by up to two years.

"... the year two class of seven-year-olds were on average 28 months ahead of their age for reading and 21 months above their age for spelling."

- The Guardian, Monday 16 June 2014 00.01 BST

As importantly, it provides early identification of learning disorders and gives educators and parents a huge head start in finding and implementing the correct measures to help the child realise their speech and language potential.
